"Uplift" Laneway Studio

This elegant laneway studio was designed by the acclaimed Marianne Amodio of MAAStudio, and built by our own Jake Fry for Smallworks.
The design draws inspiration from the client’s work in the Feldenkrais Method. The exposed structure symbolizes bones, while the skewed gable highlights the significance of structure in everyday life.

The building consists of a single room featuring a Murphy bed, soaring exposed rafters, and a minimalist approach to millwork. Nearly every visible surface of the south and east walls hides concealed panels with built-in storage.
