What started as a simple idea to build a backyard music studio transformed into something much more dynamic for the Pivot Studio project. Initially, this family planned to construct a garage, but after exploring options and costs, they realized that a laneway home was comparably priced but offered far greater long-term value. With teenagers in the house who could one day live there, friends often coming into town for visits, and the potential for rental income, the laneway home became an exciting opportunity to enhance their space.
Designed with functionality and creativity in mind, Pivot Studio makes the most of its limited footprint. A sleek display shelf adds character and provides much-needed storage, while the custom stoop at the entrance doubles as extra seating during jam sessions—making it a perfect blend of comfort, utility, and as always, beauty.
