This elegant laneway studio was designed by the acclaimed Marianne Amodio of MAAStudio, and built by our own Jake Fry for Smallworks.

The structure was based on the client’s work in the Feldenkrais Method. The exposed structure represents bones and the skewed gable is an effort to accentuate the importance of structure in everyday life.

The building is one single room with a murphy bed, soaring exposed rafters, and an extremely minimal approach to millwork. Almost every visible face of the south and east walls of the studio conceal hidden panels with storage inside.

The building is 616 square feet with a bay window seat on the south wall and expansive sliding doors that open the entire west wall out onto the serene garden outside.
